Valuations

Come along to one of our FREE valuation surgeries held every Friday (9am-5pm) and Saturday (9am-12:30pm), and get some FREE advice from our specialist team of auctioneers and valuers. Our eagle-eyed experts often spot an unusual item brought into one of our regular valuation days and it is not unknown for a really valuable item to be found in a box of otherwise unremarkable things, sometimes heading for the skip!

Can’t make a Friday or Saturday? No problem, let one of our experts come and see you at a time and date that suits you, and its FREE – call 01453 873800 to arrange an appointment.

Another quick and easy valuation service we offer is to send us images of your antiques via email or via our valuation forms – info@stroudauctions.com

We understand that valuations can be needed for other purposes such as probate, insurance and private treaty.

Probate

We can provide a probate valuation for everything from a few items to the complete contents of a home.  Please call us for an appointment.

We charge £30 initial fee plus £50 an hour. A standard probate would only take 1-2 hours and if the items valued later come in for sale then we are more than happy to discuss the refund of charges made for the probate valuation.

We also help by organising the clearance of all items, those for auction are delivered to the saleroom and unwanted items are taken away. Prior estimates for this will be supplied and a full and complete clearance carried out. This takes away some of the worry from relatives or friends at what is always a difficult time.

If you have a deceased estate to deal with and don’t know where to start then please call us for advice and practical help. We can handle probate valuations in all of the following areas: Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester, Dursley, Wotton-Under-Edge, Oxford, Bath, Swindon, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury & Bristol but with notice we can usually adjust the auctioneers diary so he can travel further afield.

Please call for more information.

Insurance

We offer written insurance valuations. The charges vary depending upon the item and the time taken by an auctioneer. Insurance valuations are required so that you have evidence of value and to prove ownership in the event of loss or damage. Having an up to date insurance valuation ensures that you would be able to buy a replacement in the event of damage or loss of the item.
